Implants

Implants

If you’ve lost some or all of your teeth, or if you are suffering with failing teeth it’s important to replace them. Our teeth support the mouth, cheeks and jaw. Even if just one tooth is lost, your appearance can drastically change as the surrounding teeth drift out of position and change the bite. This can lead to bite problems, cavities, and periodontal disease. If you’re missing several teeth, your jaw line loses shape, your lips flatten, your chin protrudes, and wrinkles increase.

The most effective solution is to a dental implant. This involves fitting a small titanium screw in the jaw that acts like a tooth root and gives a strong foundation for the fitting of a crown, which replaces the part of the tooth you see in your mouth.

Implants will complete your smile and offer a number of benefits over alternative solutions such as bridges including that they won’t contribute to bone loss which can occur under a bridge, and they have a longer lifetime.

If you have multiple teeth that are failing and replacing or have suffered a trauma that means a whole arch of teeth that need replacing we can offer a full arch implant. Visit our Dentures page to find out more.
